Never wonder which PDF is the latest one
Fast writing makes it easy to lose track of which file is correct — and stamping version numbers is one more step to forget when the chart is already late.
Divisi tracks versions separately from working copies, puts version numbers in the files and PDFs, and always presents the latest released version so your ensemble stays on the same page.

Collaboration
Write at the same time without overwriting each other
Two people open the same chart, both rewrite, both save. One file wins. The other night of work is gone — or you’re stitching measures together by hand before rehearsal.
When you both upload, Divisi compares the two scores against the copy you started from — the same merge software teams do with git. You rewrote the brass, they rewrote the woodwinds? Both sets of edits land in one file. You both changed the same measures? Divisi marks those spots in a conflict score you open in MuseScore, choose what to keep, and upload again.
If you know git: it’s that three-way merge, applied to MuseScore and MusicXML. Either way, you just upload — Divisi combines what it can and only asks you to look when the music actually disagrees.

Stop digging for the right part
Scrolling through a combined score+parts pdf shouldn’t be a rehearsal ritual. Divisi organizes by part and keeps those parts tied to the arrangement they came from.
Generate part books — one merged PDF of the same part across every arrangement in the ensemble — with page turns shaped for performance, not just for print.
Engraving
Don't re-engrave every rewrite by hand
Notation software defaults often need heavy manual cleanup. Do that once, then rewrite a version — and you’re engraving all over again.
