Founding users might get confused at where the buttons have moved to! While it can be tempting to try and keep to your old ways, I encourage you to learn about how the UI has change, and why it is laid out the way that it is, so that you can work faster!

App Sidebar

The biggest improvement to the app layout is dedicated pages for the common management and viewing tasks, as well as a sidebar to easily flip between these pages. While this all used to be on one mian page, we were reaching a point where too many things were being crammed together, and this made new users confused. Now, we have made some clear divides of what oes where, so everyone works faster.

Overview Page

This page is fairly similar to the former overview page, just cleaned up a bit.

Library and Edit Arrangements Pages

This is the big one - previously these were both in the same page, but we found that it was too cluttered to have uploading and downloading in the same place, especially when the majority of users on Divisi just want to download the latest parts or part books. The brand-new “Library” page adresses this gap and provides an easy place for musicians to download parts from any arrangement for their part.

The “Edit arrangements” page is the new name of the old “Arrangements” page, which was where uploading and downloading were done. Now, it is just for uploading and downloading musescore files, and other administrative tasks associated with downloading and uploading commits and versions.

Parts and Part Book pages

We have also expanded out the part management and part book pages, for similar reasons as above. A user simply trying to download their part book shouldnt need to worry about the part-name matrix or any other part management tasks. The “part books” page is designed for them to easily download their associated part book without needing to worry about how it all comes together.

The “Part management’ page is conversly designed for administrators to ensure all part names are correct and manage parts and part books, so that musicians can easily find their music.

Everything else in the new UI should be fairly straightforward as we tried to not hide features behind menus wherever possible. Good luck with your music!
